Design of RealMe C2
Most budget smartphones are boring to look at. Cell phone manufacturers generally do not prioritize design to keep prices low and performance high. This is not the case with the RealMe C2 as it is an attractive smartphone. Like the other smartphones in the budget segment, the RealMe C2 is made of plastic, but the finish on the back panel is unique.
Realme has used a geometric diamond cut pattern on the back panel of the phone. You can find this in our Diamond Blue Review Unit. The patterns emerge when the back of the phone glows, giving it a premium look. Due to the finish, fingerprints do not fall off easily on the back panel.
The back of the phone has two rear cameras with single-LED flash. The Realmin logo appears on the bottom panel of the phone. The RealMe C2 has a large display and a selfie camera in the water drop notch. Our review unit is already mounted on screen protection. Since the Realm C2 has a curved frame, we found that the phone fits easily in the hand.
The power button is placed on the right side of the phone and the hand can easily reach the button. On the other hand, there is a volume button on the left side of the phone. The SIM plate module is located above the button.
The RealMe C2 has a micro-USB port, subwoofer and primary microphone on the bottom, while nothing on the top of the phone. To reduce the price of a phone like the RealMe C1, the RealMe C2 does not offer a fingerprint sensor. We found that the build quality of the RealMe C2 was good and during the review, there were no scratches on the phone.
Realme C2 Specification and Software
Reality C2 is a budget phone and its specifications are not very useful. This phone is equipped with Octa Core MediaTek Helio P22 processor. Its basic variant has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The RealMe C2 starts at Rs 5,999. 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variants will be sold at this price.
The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model of the phone is priced at Rs 7,999. We have 3GB RAM variants of Reality C2. The Realm C2 features a 6.1-inch HD + (720×1560 pixels) display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The handset has the protection of Corning Gorilla Class 3. Its angles are also nice and the display is very bright on the outside. You can also change the color temperature to your liking.
To bring life to the Realm C2, a 4,000 mAh battery is provided, and this phone comes with a 10 watt charger. It has dual SIM phone and dual Nano SIM slots. Both SIMs have 4G and VoltE support. To maximize storage, RealMe has also provided a microSD card slot. Realm C2 includes FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth version 4.2, A-GPS and clonas for connectivity.
Reality C2 runs on ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pi. Our review unit operates on the March 2019 Security Link. Some applications like Realm C2, RealHunt, Facebook, Newspoint, UC Browser, Amazon, ShareSat and BDM are already pre-installed on RealMe C2. You can also uninstall them if you wish.
Theme support is also included, and you can download them from the Theme Store app. App Market is another alternative to the Google Play Store, and it’s already installed, but we found it sending spammy notifications throughout the day. The RealMe C2 also has a game center app, where you only get games.
Like other Realme smartphones, the Realme C2 also has a driving and riding mode that automatically puts the phone in TNT mode when connected to the car’s Bluetooth head unit. It can automatically send an SMS when you reject an incoming call. Gesture navigation is available on Realme C2.
Realm C2 performance, battery life and camera
The performance of the Realm C2 in this price segment is acceptable as used in the MediaTek Helio P22 processor phone. We had no problem scrolling through the app launches and menus, but when the notification panel is pulled down, the phone gets a little slower.
We also tried multitasking on this phone, but sometimes the phone takes a while to load more applications. The fingerprint sensor is not provided on the phone, but it is fitted with Face Unlock feature. This smartphone will unlock the phone quickly.
We played PUBG mobile with low settings, smooth graphics and medium frame rate. The game is not smooth, it is stuck. We changed the frame rate to low, which made a slight difference in the game, but it was still not smooth. The Realm C2 comes with a 4,000 mAh battery, which improves the battery life of the phone.
In our HD Video Loop test, the phone supported us for 20 hours and 29 minutes. We used WhatsApp on the phone, used Google Maps for a two hour navigation and saw some definitions work. The charger that comes with the phone takes more than 2 hours to charge the battery.
The Realm C2 has a dual rear camera system. Main sensor 13 megapixels. Its aperture is F / 2.2. With this, a 2 megapixel sensor with f / 2.4 aperture will work on Jugalpandi. The handset has a 5 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture for taking selfies. The camera usage is similar to what we have seen on realme smartphones before. It has buttons for HDR, Chroma Boost, Filters and Flash.
It also has Pano, Expert, Lack of Time and Slow-Mo modes. The camera app offers 2x digital zoom support. The phone has a beautification mode, with the help of which you can set the amount of beautification. We liked the pictures taken during the day from RealMe C2. The focus on the photos was good and the details were well captured.
Macro shots exceeded our expectations and the phone maintains the right distance between object and background. Phone locks focus quickly, and there is no problem with exposing during shooting in macro mode. The detail was well captured in the portrait shot. The pictures taken from the phone in low light did nothing great. The phone has no sharpness, and when zoomed in, the grains are visible.
The detail is well captured on the selfie and the quality is also good at this price. The Realm C2 also has HDR support for the front camera. The rear camera is capable of producing 1080p resolution video and the selfie camera is capable of producing 720p resolution video.
The Realm C2 has powerful hardware, good battery life and updated software with a starting price of Rs 5,999. We usually see smartphones with weak processors and outdated software at this price. The camera is a feature of this phone that needs improvement, but its quality is perfect at this price.
Tell me if you buy the basic variant of Realme C2, it can prove to be a lucrative deal. If you are thinking of buying the 3GB RAM variant of the Realm C2 and can increase your budget a bit, the Redmi 7 or Nokia 5.1 Plus (Review) can prove to be a great option for you too. These smartphones are also available for the same price, but in comparison, they come with better hardware.
