Sony plans to integrate the conflict into PlayStation consoles starting next year

A division of Sony has invested a minority in Discord as part of an agreement to merge the news site with the PlayStation Gaming division of Consumer Electronics.

The deal, announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan on Monday, focuses on expanding its business as a full-fledged company following Reuters’ announcement last month that Descartes had concluded sales negotiations with Microsoft.

Discord allows you to gather and chat with both public and private groups through text, audio and video. It was initially popular among gamers and streamers, but is now used by communities ranging from sports fans and bands to cryptocurrency investors.

“Our goal is to bring the Discord and PlayStation experiences closer to the console and mobile early next year,” Ryan said in a blog post.

Sony and Discord did not disclose the value of the investment.

Discord has more than 140 million users and relies on its business model premium subscription service. In December, the company raised $ 100 million (approximately Rs 740 crore) in a private financial round, valued at $ 7 billion (approximately Rs 51,710 crore).
