Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 8 Pro has been launched at a starting price of Rs 14,999. This price is available in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variants. The phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variants priced at Rs 15,999. Its 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variants will be priced at Rs 17,999. Based on the powerful processor and high resolution camera can the Redmi Note 8 Pro present a new strong challenge in the market? We will get the answer to this question in a detailed review. But before that we spent some time with the Redmi Note 8 Pro. How did we like this phone at first glance? Let’s say …
The Redmi Note 8 Pro gives the impression of being a large and heavy phone. It weighs 200 grams and is 8.79 millimeters wide. Some people don’t like it. Not everyone likes the glossy chrome frame provided on the body edges of the phone. At first glance, we found it to be more reflective. The pods on the screen are very thin. But due to the water drop peak, you will not get fullscreen.
The 6.53-inch full HD + screen given in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is bright and crisp. The Corning Gorilla Class 5 has protection on the front and back panels of the phone. It comes with TUV Renault certification for Blue Light reduction.
The cameras on the back are in vertical positions. The large piece is in the middle of the phone. On its right side is the second piece. The main piece is slightly elevated. This helps to stabilize the phone when it is flat on the surface.
The primary piece for the fingerprint sensor has been found. It’s a little small. But it is easy to achieve as it appears. How does it feel in everyday use? We will talk about this in detail in the review of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. According to Xiaomi, low cutout glass gives more strength, which is a good thing.
There are two small plates on the left. There is space for two Nano SIM cards and a microSD card slot. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 8 Pro variant introduced in China does not have a slot for a microSD card. It has been brought to India. Like other Xiaomi phones, this handset also has an infrared emitter. We also saw a small announcement with LEDs on the right side of the selfie camera. The rest of the design of the phone is very stable. The buttons are on the right. USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio socket and space below the speaker.
Shiomi knows that Indian customers are very serious about specification. In such a situation, using the MediaTek G90D processor is an interesting decision. MediaTek claims that the G90D processor is capable of surpassing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 703G processors. This processor is made for gaming. In such a scenario, users interested in gaming will definitely consider the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Now let’s talk about the main rear camera with 64 rear megapixel f / 1.89 aperture. We can do nothing about its effectiveness at this time. This will be discussed in detail in the review of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Typically, the camera captures 16-megapixel images with the help of pinning technology. But expect more clarity to get better images. 64 megapixels is a strong feature in terms of marketing.
The secondary camera has a 120 degree wide-angle lens. It is an 8 megapixel sensor with f / 2.2 aperture. It seems that it does not work in all situations. You also get a 2 megapixel depth sensor and a 2 megapixel macro camera. Got a look at this type of camera system on the RealMe 5 Pro. We feel that this feature is not very mandatory. But since the advent of this sensor, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has reached its challenges.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 20-megapixel camera with an f / 2.0 aperture on the front panel. It also has portrait mode. The battery of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is 4,500 mAh. It supports fast charging of 18 watts. The phone comes with dual-band WiFi 802.11 AC, special antenna and Bluetooth 5. Xiaomi has made this phone available in India in Hollow White, Gamma Green and Shade Black. Amazon’s Alexa assistant is also integrated.
This device runs on MIUI 10.4.2 based on Android 9 Pie. It is expected to receive MIUI 11 in the near future.
We will be bringing you a review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro soon. In it, the performance of the phone, cameras, battery life, screen, build quality and other features will be discussed in detail.
